How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! (Psalm 119:103)

Listen in as Rose and Lily question Modern Church theology – searching the Scriptures daily, whether these things are so (Acts 17:11).

The Three-Legged Stool

How do you stay holy as a Christian in this unholy world? Only Jesus is our strength (Psalm 62), and we can cleave to Him through three beautiful channels: Bible Reading, Prayer, and Church. Without legs, your stool would collapse! But if all three legs are strong and practiced daily, you and your Gospel ministry (which sits atop this stool) will be strong.

Bible Reading

“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)

Reading the Bible daily is just as essential as eating food every day. In this generation where there are a thousand lies for every truth, we need God’s Word more than ever. We recommend a “Three and Three” reading plan: three chapters in the Old Testament and three in the New Testament. You will get through the whole Bible in under a year! (The Old Testament takes 310 days to get through, and the New takes 86 days.) Amazing! Praise Jesus!

“And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony…” (Exodus 25:22)

Set aside an hour of prayer daily for God, who is our Husband. Meet with Him, face to face. Spend time ministering to Jesus by worshiping Him in all His beauty! Then “pour out your heart like water” (Lam 2:18-19) about what is burdening your heart through prayer. And when you leave the closet, never cease to speak to God throughout your day.

“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,” (Acts 2:46)

Loving Jesus implies not only loving His head, but also loving His body — the church. Sadly, it is very very rare to find a good church these days. But search for one as silver and as gold, and when you find a church that does not compromise with the world or any degree of sin, cleave with all your heart by attending every meeting and serving the ministry.
